We replaced the lid and tabs with a soft-touch button system. This ensures you can access your food easily in freezing temperatures or after a 20-mile day with minimal effort.

How do I store my bear canister at night?

First, make sure your BV ONE is in the locked position. Then place your locked BV ONE on flat ground with the large side up, at least 70 steps away from your sleeping and cooking areas.

Choose a spot downwind from your camp and away from water sources or cliffs to prevent a bear from rolling the canister away.

Never put your canister near a steep drop-off or tether it to a tree. Bears are super smart and will use these as leverage to try to break in.

Can I sit on the BV ONE as a camp stool?

Yes! Just make sure the canister is fully closed and locked before sitting.

Like our classic BearVault canisters, the BV ONE is durable enough to double as a camp stool, giving you a place to sit at camp without carrying extra gear.

How do I keep my food from spilling out when opening from the middle?

Hold the BV ONE with the larger side facing up (like a mushroom). Press both soft-touch buttons, then twist the canister open. Before fully separating the halves, flip the canister so the food stays in place.
